Here is a meditation and visualization with a 4 and 8 count breath (inhale to the count of four while silently speaking ‘Sa Ta Na Ma’; then exhale to the count of four plus four while silently speaking ‘Sa Ta Na Ma’ twice. From my own practice of the meditation and visualization, I find it works fine if practiced for 3 minutes, and works even better if practiced for 11 minutes.
If you begin to feel light-headed or dizzy, stop practicing right away, or else begin counting faster, so that your lungs will get the right amount of oxygen …

CREDITS: I credit Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization (3HO) for the ‘Sa Ta Na Ma’ chant of Yogi Bhajan (Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Yogiji). As I understand it 3HO and Yogi Bhajan freely and generously gifted the chant to the world. I recall seeing a similar triangle described in a 3HO yoga manual from the 1980s; but I am not sure which manual that was. As far as I know, the pranayam (the 4-8 breath) and visualization of the energy flow were channeled through me in recent days. Please let me know if I am mistaken about this. –Alice Clagett
