Hello, Dear Ones, It’s Alice.

I have a poem for you that I wrote a long time ago. There are two words that sound alike in it. The sound is /bôrn/  and the first one … ‘born’ … has the usual meaning. The second one … ‘bourne’ … sounds alike but is spelled differently; it means ‘carried’. Here is the poem …

Whether the wind blow
or no
whether we be born
or breathed into being
or bourne, naught but eyes,
beyond ever so far
unblinking
on that breeze that flows
sparkling
between the galaxies …

If memory serves,
it was so.
So may it ever be.
