Dear Ones.

Here is my poem “Mi Espero.” The poem is about the path we take to find God. It is similar to an ancient Hindu text I once read, and that I used to carry about with me …

Dear Ones,

As I recall, I wrote this poem when I was in college. I recall one ‘No-Doz’ night prepping for a final exam. Could be that prompted me to write about sleep, which seemed forgettable until I neglected it.

“Sleep”
A Poem by Alice B. Clagett
ca. 1967

Sleep is something that’s not there.
Try to trap it anywhere.
Try to catch it by surprise —
It’s not found in waking eyes.
Not here,
Or there
Or anywhere.

Yet sleep to us is everything
The what-from we get pep and zing
For ringing
and singing
with giving
and living . . . and yet

Sleep is something that’s not there.
Try to find it anywhere
Try to catch it unaware
You can’t trace it to its lair
Not here
or there —
Not anywhere.

Light
A Poem by Alice B. Clagett
19 January 2020

Why not choose the good?
Why not choose the Light?
Why pick the Dark when we can be bright?
Let us stand in the Light with all our might
… super bright … despite
what anyone tells us.

Tinsel Head: To Be or Not to Be?
A Poem by Alice B. Clagett
18 December 2019

I shall wear tinsel on my head
And then by demons will be lead
Then by no one shalt be said
That my head is full of lead …
instead
They’ll bow down to me

[This poem takes the opposite of my own point of view.]

Fool’s Gold . a rhymed poem by Alice B. Clagett

Written on 27 November 2019

  • FOOL’S GOLD, a Poem by Alice B. Clagett

Dear Ones,

Here is a short satire on counterfeit money ..

FOOL’S GOLD
A Rhymed Poem by Alice B. Clagett
27 November 2019

Would you like some counterfeit?
We have tons and tons of it.

If you say yes, and Fort Knox knocks,
They will have what you have not …
The stuff that dreams are made of.

Who can guess with what duress
The Feds will put you to the test?
Confess! … unless  you’d like a drubbing.

So I say: At the end of the day
It’s better to have what you make,
Than fake … albeit merely pennies.

Then, should the Feds express distress
You can show what you were paid …
And so allay budding dismay
On the part of every party.

I do presume to sing this tune
Of happiness without much stress
By being quite the opposite
Of those who profess to be lawless.

Heartache creeps in
When the heart takes a spin
To the land of the heartachy hard case …

Perhaps not the gallows
Yet prison will swallow
The years of our youth
Amongst the uncouth
Who did not know real bread
From playdough

A Poem for ‘Chameleon’: The Man with the Trembling Pinkie . by Alice B. Clagett

  • A POEM FOR ‘CHAMELEON’: THE MAN WITH THE TREMBLING PINKIE, by Alice B. Clagett
  • AFTERTHOUGHT: DO PERSEID METEOR SHOWERS SPARK SERIAL KILLER AND SERIAL RAPIST ENERGIES?
  • MORE INFORMATION

Dear Ones,

Here is a very short poem rhymed in a slapdash manner reminiscent of the personality of the protagonist …

A POEM FOR THE MAN WITH THE TREMBLING PINKIE
by Alice B. Clagett
9 August 2019

His balderdash
Off he will cast
And you’ll be (past
tense) corned beef hash.

To get wise to this sort of MO, it might be good to view the British 2-part drama “Secret Smile,” which stars Kate Ashfield and David Tennant … Link: “Secret Smile” … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_Smile ..

I do not advise ‘getting even’ or ‘giving someone what they deserve’ like the heroine, though. The thing to do is to ask local law enforcement for help, I feel.

In love, light and joy,
I Am of the Stars

AFTERTHOUGHT: DO PERSEID METEOR SHOWERS SPARK SERIAL KILLER AND SERIAL RAPIST ENERGIES?

I wonder if this trouble that comes up every once in a while has something to do with the annual Perseid meteor shower (associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle), which is taking place just now?

Last night it felt like big menacing dark things were zooming by … a crowd of them, almost like hostile thought forms zooming through my head.

Could there be an association between the energy of the annual Perseid meteor shower and that of undercover serial killers and serial rapists? … a ‘spark-off’ that turns them from mild mannered Dr. Jekylls to evil Mr. Hydes this time of year? …
